MULTI CH Arina
Betty was born on Halsnøy in Norway. Out of a litter with nine puppies. When we got Betty she was four months old, and we actually couldn’t have a dog where we lived. That's why my mum watch her for five months.
Poor Betty, she was not familiar to much outside her little home on Halsnøy, so we did a lot of working to get her like we wanted. A marvelous Briard, self confident and an amazing all around Briard. My first Briard.
Thank you Fred Harry and Grete to let me be an owner for this amazing dog!!!
I have done a lot of things with Betty, and I had some hard time to finally decide that she actually was retired. We did some agility and we took the herding instinct test after she turned thirteen years old!
Since I’m a GOALGETTER, I have tried to achieve as much as possible with her. We have had a lot of good times, laughs and also some frustrations! Don’t forget that Betty is a bitch and she gave me a hard time to get the Norwegian obedience title... Yes, she did know what to do, but NOT with the good energy and enthusiasm as we would prefer in obedience. Example; on the recall she decided to just lay there as nothing was going on... But we worked together, and we came up with a good solution. After a lot of work, we finally got her champion title! One summer we went to Sweden and Denmark, and she got first prize in both obedience and conformation, That’s why she got seven more titles that summer. (NORD UCH S UCH DK UCH INT UCH in conformation and NORD LCH S LCH DK LCH in obedience). Before she had the Norwegian titles. (NUCH and NLCH).
After this we did some Agility and Rally obedience. There are no titles in lower classes in Norway, but she had 7 runs in Rally, first Dog in Norway with 100 points! In Agility she was done in Novice (Level 1) and she had two qualified runs in Open class (level 2). We didn’t practice, just entered some competitions when we felt to do it.
Betty had her first litter in 2001. When she was almost nine years old, we decided to breed her again with an American dog named Tornado. After this combination we got a nice bitch named Mira. In 2008 we moved to Houston,TX and our dogs came with us. That’s why Betty didn’t retire as I had planned. In Usa we did conformation, obedience, rally, herding, agility and also a good citizens test. My conclusion with Betty is that she is an amazing competition dog in addition to a dedicated family dog! I couldn’t ask for a better friend, and what an all round Briard! We have a long record of history together and we have acquired a lot of experience in all kind of dog sports! I am really proud to have her as my breed bitch of my kennel! I hope the future will bring more amazing Briards to this world where we can find Betty’s name on the pedigree:)
